Pink and plum flower power.

The feeling of spring has hit SLC for sure, and we can enjoy some nice sunny days before the intense summer heat kicks in. The kids and I don't do well outside in the summer heat, so right now it's just perfect for us. Yesterday, we celebrated the first day of  May at a Discovery children's museum. The kids got to run around for almost 3 hours then followed by dinner at Sizzler. So they had a great day, and of course daddy and mommy felt more worn out than the kiddies..... LOL

Anyways, moving on to nails. Today I was in the mood for pink, do I picked out Piper from Zoya as base and decided to try China Glaze Purr-Fect Plum as stamping polish. I haven't tried this polish for stamping before.
I was also in the mood for a full nail image, so I spent a few looking at my plate collection and picked out Dashica XXL SdP 1. I think this is my favorite plate in my collection. But then I just love my Dashica plates. I have used the image before, but I thought if Purr-Fect Plum works the final look will look really pretty.

So can Purr-Fect Plum be used as stamping polish?? I would say so. The video tutorial and final look picture below.

Hope you all enjoy spring as much as I do. Happy stamping!!!

A very mini haul.

I jumped on the promo Zoya did on FB. So got 3 Zoya polishes for free only paid for the shipping & handling. And that was just $10.00 so good deal.

I don't have that many Zoya polishes in my collection. But anyways, I picked 2 cream polishes and 1 tanned polish with some gold it. Can't really see the gold in pictures. And the mint green looks more blue in this picture.......... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

L2R: Dulcinea, Bevin & Piper.

Other than that it's really cold here in Salt Lake City and I have a cold......... The joy of winter.......
My grandmother in-law turned 90 years old, so I baked her favorite cookies and got some flowers and her favorite candies. She had a great birthday, she went out to lunch with her nieces and nephews and came home to dinner and freshly baked cookies. And she got a few big birthday hugs from the kids.
So now time to relax and think of what to do on my nails tomorrow.
Think it's time for hot chocolate before bed......

Thanks for checking my little blog.

Sad day.

Today I had hoped it was going to be a great day, do my nails and make a video of it.  I did that yesterday night and was looking forward to doing the editing of it and make a blog post. My 6 year old was sent to school and I went to bed for a little while longer until my soon 2 year old was due to wake up.
Of course when I get up I like to turn on the TV for the latest news. Today was a sad day to wake up to.
An other mad gunman went crazy, this time at an elementary school. So many young and innocent lives lost and so many families ruined forever. It's heartbreaking..... I have hugged my kids a lot today. And one of the thoughts that has hit me a lot today is that there will be a lot of gifts unopened under the tree on Christmas day and 20 families won't get to see that child's happy smiles and hear them laugh. Just heartbreaking......
My thoughts go to all of the families to whom lost their loved ones today.

Now on to the nail part.
My first Christmas nails this year.
Base is Zoya Delilah and Maybelline Bold Gold, then for the stamping I used Bold Gold and Dashica's Jade green. The images I used are both from Dashica SdP 6 & 83, then I added some small red dots with a toothpick on the images on my ring finger. Recording the video was a pain, I need a new battery or new charger for my camcorder. So I had to use my Canon Powershot, and it has a hard time focusing......  So I apologize for the quality on the video. I am hoping to figure out if it's the battery or charger that needs a replacement.

Thank you for popping by and reading my little blog.

Apple, apple, apple!

So got bored with my nails again, and decided to do some very late night mani. As I said in the post before this one I got 2 new Zoya polishes Phoebe and Apple. I used my base coat from Finger Paints, then  it was time to try out Apple. It went on so nice and even, and I only needed 2 coats. OMG I love it, it's my fav green glitter polish. I used my Out The Door top coat from Sally's, I love this one.... NO MORE SECHE VITE for me.
Then I decided to do some nail stamping, I used M71 the famous Hello Kitty plate. Where can you get that???
Here's the link, and you get it with a stamper and scraper for a really good price. I know an other site only sells the plate for like almost the same price, and the shipping cost more from them. So go with www.bornprettystore.com, they have more nail art goodies too. Here's the direct link to the Hello Kitty plate:

New Nail Art Lovely Hello Kitty Stamp Template DIY Kit

I decided to use the two flowers on this plate on my nails, so grabbed my white Konad special polish and got to work. Sealed the stamps with Konad top coat.
So even if there's snow outside I can look at my nails and hope spring is around the corner.

Some Konad and trying out a new Zoya.

So I got my 2 polishes from Zoya from the summer collection. And just loved the look of the colors in the bottles. I got Apple and Phoebe. So I decided to try out Phoebe first, it kinda looks like Brisk Blue from Sally Hansen but Phoebe has a matte finish. I didn't like how it goes on tho, it applies very uneven. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem. But smack on some Konad and you don't really see it on the nail. Maybe I'll try an other base coat. I'll keep you all posted but heere's how it turned out, my first Phoebe nails with Konad plate M71 and special polish in white.

Have a great day.
