Some stamping, bad start on my son's summer holiday, and some other random stuff.

Tuesday was the first day of summer holiday for little D, he finish his first year of school. But for the last days he and his sister G have been coughing like crazy. But I guess that will happen when yo go from warm weather to cold to warm again, just in a few days.... Even tho the meds are in cherry or berry flavor they hate taking their meds. So I have been armed with lollipops, lately... What ever I have to do to get them to take their meds right....

But I woke up to some great news today, one of my cousins back home in Norway and his long time girlfriend gave birth to a little baby boy. Tho I wish I could go back home this weekend, my dad turns 70 years old. #@$^#$ the whole mess with my papers, hopefully it will all get sorted out soon so I can visit and sit at my parents table and just talk and talk for hours over my mom's yummy food.

Moving on to the nail stuff, I know that's why most of you pop in for. I got this Julie G polish a while ago 9 To 5, but when ever I put it on I remove it right away. For some reason I think it doesn't look good against my olive skin tone..... But then again, I feel that way with all neon colors and this is a neon peach. Still it is a pretty color and I love peach, so I applied 3 coats. For stamping polish Maybelline Color Show in Navy Narcissist, Dashica SdP 110 (one of the new plates).

Now I just have to see how long I last before this neon peach freaks me out and I remove it all. I know, one odd things about me...... An other odd thing about me, if I don't like a DVD cover I won't watch the movie...... Yup, crazy.....

15 years ago I went to Ireland on a summer holiday, and I loved it there. All the people I met were all very friendly and welcoming. And I went to some tiny villages that an Asian chick wasn't a normal sight, but still got invited to have a pint with them at their table. And at one of the local pubs in Tuam I had the best Irish stew, ever.....  It was one of the best vacations I have had, so I guess every year St. Patrick's Day I always think back to that 3 week trip.

Anyways St. Patrick's Day is also this Sunday's theme in AIS, so I had to do my nails.
I used Essie's Mint Candy Apple as base (it's one of my favorites), then I used a plate from Shany SH219 and stamped with Dashica Jade Green and Maybelline's Bold Gold.

Sad day.

Today I had hoped it was going to be a great day, do my nails and make a video of it.  I did that yesterday night and was looking forward to doing the editing of it and make a blog post. My 6 year old was sent to school and I went to bed for a little while longer until my soon 2 year old was due to wake up.
Of course when I get up I like to turn on the TV for the latest news. Today was a sad day to wake up to.
An other mad gunman went crazy, this time at an elementary school. So many young and innocent lives lost and so many families ruined forever. It's heartbreaking..... I have hugged my kids a lot today. And one of the thoughts that has hit me a lot today is that there will be a lot of gifts unopened under the tree on Christmas day and 20 families won't get to see that child's happy smiles and hear them laugh. Just heartbreaking......
My thoughts go to all of the families to whom lost their loved ones today.

Now on to the nail part.
My first Christmas nails this year.
Base is Zoya Delilah and Maybelline Bold Gold, then for the stamping I used Bold Gold and Dashica's Jade green. The images I used are both from Dashica SdP 6 & 83, then I added some small red dots with a toothpick on the images on my ring finger. Recording the video was a pain, I need a new battery or new charger for my camcorder. So I had to use my Canon Powershot, and it has a hard time focusing......  So I apologize for the quality on the video. I am hoping to figure out if it's the battery or charger that needs a replacement.

Bad wisdom tooth, nail stubs & noodles.

The day after Thanksgiving I I got the worst tooth ache in history, and normal pain killers didn't do s***.
Got an appointment to a dentist yesterday, and I have to say this dentist was really  nice. Wish I had him back in Norway, he was way better than all of them combined. Anyways, it was a bad wisdom tooth and it had a crack in it, so double bad. So here I am all doped up on some stronger pain killers he filled out a subscription for.

So needless to say I haven't done much nail stuff because of it, and looking down at my short nail stubs was just too depressing..... But finally today I did my nails.
Base color is OPI Die An Other Day (Bond collection), stamping polish Maybelline Bold Gold and I used Dashcia Big SdP T.

It''s a cold day today here in Utah, so I made a bow of my favorite noodles (Shin)  with an egg and topped with some chopped green onions. And I have some Bulgogi meats in marinade, that will be tonight's dinner.

Sunday Nov. 18th Challenge.

Let's just say the last half of this week hasn't been good, we got hit with colds and stomach flu. Little G had her first stomach flu, and let me just say she was a handful. Instead of standing still when she was sick and freaking out she would run around and go EEEEEEEEEHEEEH..... Thank goodness for Bissel spot cleaner, that thing has been my best friend for 2 days..... I got a cold and a sore throat, and yesterday I got stomach flu too. The joy of winter months...... HELL NO....

Anyways now on to this weeks challenge in AIS: Some aspect of matte in your mani.

I didn't want to do a black base, because it stains my nails and cuticles like crazy......  So I decided to go with red. I also thought this would give me a chance to test my 3 matte topcoats, so I pulled out one of my nail wheels and painted 4 black swatches with WnW Black Creme. I did 4 so 1 was with normal topcoat (Out The Door) so you could see the difference. I have 3 matte topcoats one is from NYC Matte Me Crazy, Dashica Matte Topcoat & Hard Candy Matte-Ly In Love.

I have to say I like the Hard Candy one the best, it dries faster and shows up a bit more matte than the NYC one. I got mine from Walmart, can't remember the price tho.....

Now onto the challenge again...........

As I said I didn't want to do a black base, so I went with red ORLY Grave Mostake. Then I did 2 coats of the Hard Candy matte TC and pulled out one of my Dashica plates  ( I know, I know... I use them A LOT.) SdP 80 and Maybelline Bold Gold for the stamping part. And I finished the look with some yellow rhinestones.

SkyFall Nails

I was 11 years old when I saw my first James Bond movie, and it was Dr No with Sean Connery as Bond.
Since then I have been a James Bond fan. So I got most of the OPI James Bond collection, so today I decided to do short stamping tutorial to celebrate the opening of Skyfall in theaters this coming Friday. This also is 50 years of James Bond movies, the first was Dr No in 1962. So I decided to make it very simple.
For base I used OPI Skyfall as base color, then I used Maybelline Bold Gold for stamping and Dashica's Dash 6.

So who is my favorite James Bond? I have to say Sean Connery and very close to him or even tied maybe is Daniel Craig, then Pierce Brosnan. The best Bond theme song in my book A view to a kill by Duran Duran (my fav band). LOL.

OPI Skyfall this will look stunning with gold flakes.

Final look

Kids are finally starting to get better with their colds and coughs, so is granny in-law and hubby. Right now I have a meatloaf in the oven filling the home with yummy smells. And later I am going to try and plan out the next tutorial. Have a good night.

Metallic Madness.

Sunday 7th October challenge in AIS was Metallic Madness. Using metallic polishes as base color or stamping color. My plans for getting the video done and blog post done yesterday was ruined. But better late than never.... Right?

I used Wet N Wild Wet Cement as base color, Maybelline's Bold Gold as stamping polish and pulled out my Dashica Big SdP U plate. I don't know why, but when fall and winter comes I always use brown shades a lot on my nails. Any of you do the same???  I tried to limit my stamping on the video, so did 2 nails before I hit the record button. Think it helped since this video is way shorter than my other stamping videos.
