A Magical Sunset Nails.

I am waiting to get nail mail from Shirley, I waiting for 17 new Infinity Nails plates to get here. So because of that I am having problems finding inspiration to do my nails or use any of my other plates. Every time I am waiting to get some kind of nail mail, I am stuck. For some reason I always think I don't have enough plates to find inspiration from. How can that be when I have over 400 plates??? I know my plate collection isn't the biggest one, I know of plenty of girls who has way more plates than me. But I know that most of those girls are the same way when they are expecting nail mail.
I have been walking around with naked nails for 5 days, yeah you read it right 5 whole days. Because I couldn't think up any ideas. But then I forced my self to sit down and look at my polishes (that was the easy part) then my plates. 2 hours looking at plates and I had a hard time deciding.
So my base is an orange acrylic paint mixed with some white, then I used a sponge Essie Meet Me At Sunset on the nail tips.

My plate choice finally ended on Infinity Nails by Dashica and plate number 10, the top image. It's a special image that shows a whole scene, that can be stamped on multiple nails. There is a portion of that image with a fairy, flowers, a mushroom and a butterfly. So I picked that part of the image to stamp on my nails. I picked my trusty Dashica Black stamping polish and Magno XL stamper.

Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by.

Get Up And Dance, Dance, Dance Nails!!!

Only a couple more weeks left of summer vacation here, and then it's back to school for kids.
It's still really hot here in Salt Lake City.
Anyways, for this Sunday's challenge in AIS it's: Plate ending in 8.
So I had to pull all my plates out and pull out all the ones ending with 8. Not that many in my collection, tho.
I wanted to do some pastel nails again, been doing those a bit this summer. So pastel Skittle nails was what I ended up with.

Sally Hansen
Mint Sorbet
Lacey Lilac
Mellow Yellow

Julie G's White Orchid with 3 coats of OPI I Think In Pink

And my franken Sinful Colors
Snow Me White that I turned into a pastel blue (I didn't have one in my collection).

Then when all the coats of base color had dried I added a thin coat of China Glaze Techno (My favorite glitter polish, it's freaking stunning DISCO BALL in a bottle).

The plate I ended up with was one of two I picked out from a contest I got 3rd place in. Konad S8 has a few girls dancing images and a french tip image on it. And I used my Wet N Wild Black Creme as stamping polish. It didn't turn out as well as I had imagined it to be, but oh well.

Now to get ready for a busy day, tons of shopping. No, no fun shopping grocery stores, Sprout's and the Asian market.

Have a smashing weekend.

"Boop Boop a Doop, Boop Boop" Nails.

It has been so darn hot here in Salt Lake City the last few days. Too hot for the kids and me, so they're going crazy inside. I try my best to fins activities to do inside, but hoping that hubby and I can take them out some place with AC that they can run around for a bit so they can get rid of some of that built in energy they have gathered inside.
Also we put on Lilo & Stitch for the first time for Grace, needless to say it may not be the best movie for a 2 1/2 year old with tantrum fits. Didn't take long for her to scream along with Lilo when Lilo is trying to get away from her big sister....

Also it's been too hot for my nails, hands & cuticles. I am rubbing lotion and cuticle oil like crazy. And still they look CRAZY dry.....

Boop Boop a Doop, Boop Boop Be Doop,Boo Boo pa Doo!,Boopy Doopy Doopy Doo Poop-Oopy Doo,Boop Boop a Doop, Boop Oopy Doo

Now moving onto the nails, my base color today is from LA Girl. One of the 3D Holographic Effects polishes, I only have the one in purple. It's filled with fine holo glitter, so you get a different kind of holo effect than what you get from the latest holo collections from China Glaze and Color Club. I found this polish at Rite Aid, they only had a few of the purple ones left. I have to go to other locations and see if they have other colors.
The Betty Boop water decals was part of my birthday gift from Shirley last year. She was so sweet and gave me a Big SdP plate, some nail treatments, couple of stamping polishes, and a stamper, some stickers and this big sheet of Betty Boop water decals. It was so big I had to cut it down to smaller sections. I don't know if she has this Betty Boop decals in her web store, but you can find other amazing looking water decals and nail stickers if you're not into stamping. Here's the link to the water decals, there are different brands and kinds so something for everybody. Anyways, I applied the water decals and did a coat of topcoat over them to seal them in and protect them before I started the stamping part.

Moving on to stamping part, I decided to use one of the latest Big plates from Dashica, Big SdP W and picked a cute feather image. I used my Konad White stamping polish, and my standard Konad stamper. You don't really see me use this stamper that much, normally I use my XL stamper that I put in a bottle cap.
Here's the link to the image plate:

Then I finished it all with a coat of Out The Door fast drying topcoat.

Hope you all have a great weekend. As always thanks for stopping by.

Aaaah, I need a break.

Been so busy making videos and testing my new plates. My nails, hands and cuticles are a mess....
And I wanted my nails to look pretty for a day, so taking a break from making videos until tomorrow or Sunday. But fear not I have a couple ready to upload to youtube, 2 more Closer Look At videos.
Anyways, I wanted something simple and delicate. So I applied 2 coats of Julep Audrey, pulled out my new Dashica Big SdP X and Konad special polish in White.
And finished with some Swarovski crystals. This look would be really nice as bridal nails.

We got some burgers and hot dogs from Omaha Steaks from a family friend, so that's what we're having for our Memorial Day dinner. I have to try and find a nice teacher's gift for summer. Anyone have any ideas?

Haul Part 1, polishes.

I went to my local nail supply store, Lee's Nail Supply. My go to place if I want to get OPI, China Glaze, Orly, Color Club, nail wheels, swatch sticks etc.
They sell OPI for $4, China Glaze and Color Club for $3. I called in and asked him if the OPI Bond Girl collection had arrived yet, and he got it 2 days before. So I popped in to pick them up, I also wanted to look at the Texture collection from China Glaze and wanted to get my first yellow polish. I only picked up one of the texture polishes, but walked out with all 6 Bond girls, and  China Glaze Sunshine Pop. Then a few days ago I noticed I was running low on my Konad White so I ordered a Princess size from amazon.

I have added the my new liquid sand polishes and the texture polishes to the same wheel I have the Julie G Gumdrops. I have noticed that the OPI liquid sand polishes have a finer feel to them. Not as rough as the Gumdrops. Also not all 6 have a ton of glitter in them, the Chine Glaze Textured polishes don't have any glitters in them. But only one of the screamed out to me. Guess it's because it looks like Dance Baby, so I just had to grab it.

All the polishes I got this week.

Konad White & China Glaze Unrefined

Unrefined looks like Dance Baby to me, have to look at them side by side.

I will do a blog post on the Bond Girl collection alone, in a day or two. Also I am doing some on the new plate sets I'm getting from Winstonia and Pueen, so keep an eye out for those posts too.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Sunday May 5th AIS challenge.

Jikes, weekend is almost over already.....  Oh, well....
Today's challenge in AIS Stamping over a lilac base. So I painted my nails with 2 of my Julie G polishes;  Fairytale on 3 of my nails,  and Crushed Candy on ring finger and thumb nail (one of the gumdrop polishes). I did 2 coats on both polishes and then used a topcoat before I started stamping.
I think these two polishes  look really great paired together, sorry the cream one look kinda washed out on some of the pictures. It is really a very pretty pastel lilac cream polish, so if you're on the lookout for a pastel lilac you can find these polishes at RiteAid.

Because I used one of the gumdrop polishes I knew I couldn't pick an image with very fine details and lines, because it would just drown and look really odd because of all the glitter in that polish. So picked out an image from one of my  Dashica Big plates. I went with some roses on plate Dashica Big SdP U and used my Konad special polish in White.

Let me just tell you............
Not easy to stamp and make a video at the same time when a 2 year old is climbing all over around you...  LOL!! That's the reason why it gets a bit shaky in my tutorial, sorry......

Final look

On other note, I get to try out my new Dyson today. My old Dyson animal needed to be tossed out after 7 years. My new Dyson  isn't an animal, since we don't have any pets right now. And my husband ordered 1 lb of that Death Coffee, have you heard about it??? If you haven't google it.

That's all for now, I guess. I am going to crawl back to bed and get some more sleep before kids wake up. Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

Happy stamping.

Just One Of Those Tuesdays.........

Early this morning, like around 4 am I had to get up because I was dying of thirst. And I checked my phone, and even it was plugged in to charge it was almost dead. So I had to turn off and turn it back on to get it to charge, and went back to bed. Then woke up at 8.02 am with a panic, overslept...... Just because I had to turn off/on my phone it shut off my alarms. And it was just 25 minutes until the school bus would be outside the door, and the kid was still ZZZZzzzzzZZZ away.......
We normally have 1 hr and 15 minutes from he wakes up and until he goes out the door, so needless to say with 25 minutes and an autistic boy who needs his normal routine to get ready in the morning..... Yup, was a few tantrum fits before he went out the door. Then 30 minutes later, after he went to school I knew there was something today..... Then I look on my phone, run to the fridge and look at the note. He has an eye sight appointment at 10. am, so I run in to get hubby up who has the day off. And he just had to get dressed and out the door to get the boy from school. So far this day has been just BAD.
But I did my nails before I went to bed last night..... Hahaha.

On my left hand I used Julie G's Fairytale as base pulled out one of my Dashica's Dash plate 8 and Konad M19 and used Maybelline Amethyst Ablaze for stamping polish

In normal lighting

Under my LED light that I use when I make videos.

On my right hand I used Essie's Sugar Daddy as base and picked an image from BM 308 and Konad M19 using the black stamping polish from Dashica.

Yesterday I got my prize for one of my entries on the Konad Ireland FB contest. I got 2 plates and the pump remover bottle, I have one but got an other as backup. I love it, makes it easy to do my nails. The plates I picked Konad S8 and S9.

Now, I am crossing my fingers that the rest of the day will get better. Hope your morning turned out WAY better than mine. Thanks for stopping by

Contest nail stamping designs.

For the last 3 days I have been working on designs for Konad Ireland FB contest, theme is Black & White. You have to use one of the 19 photos they posted to make a mani, and yes you can only use Konad plates. I don't have that many of those like 13 or 14. I decided to do this on my nail swatch sticks, because I knew it would be a mess if I did it on my own nails. Still a hassle since the images on Konad plates are so small, so had to double stamp on the Black & White animal dress mani.  I used images from 6 plates, I will list the plate numbers I used under each design.
You can see all the entries for this contest here:

The joy of stamping, Korean noodles and Korean TV dramas.

After the kids had their breakfast and was playing nicely with their stuff I thought it was a good time to do my nails. A few weeks ago I won 3 Julep polishes so I decided to try one out, I picked Grace since it's also my daughter's name. Then I pulled out one of my Dashica Dash 15 plates and Konad white and m19 for French tip for my left hand. On the right I used Grace as base again, but used Maybelline's  Amethyst Ablaze  for stamping. Then I just used some nail stickers to add as finishing touch for my mani and some rhinestones.

Then it was lunch time and to warm me up since it's so cold outside I did some Korean noodles, and a few rice cakes and some dumplings. And of course some Kimchi on the side, both the normal napa cabbage kind and radish. And there's no doubt little Grace is half Asian, she loves noodles and rice. But turn her head to potatoes.......

And while I was slurping my noodles I decided to watch some Korean drama on hulu. Right now I am watching Kimchi family. And they have managed to make Kimchi making look like an art, I just wish I could jump into the screen and taste all those yummy foods they show. Also I haven't had much Korean food since I was adopted years ago, so when I tasted the rice cakes the other day I guess it triggered something. The taste and the soft chewyness was so familiar, I must have eaten rice cakes when I was a toddler.

Right hand.

Left hand

You like my owl nail file??

Yay, Friday is here.

This morning I decided to paint my nails, so pulled out the FP polish I got in Feb. nail bag from NAS Romanticism Ruby and used one of my Shany plates and Konad stamping polish in white.
Then it was off to pick up my Dyson that had been repaired and off to the biggest Asian market in SLC.
I walked out from the Asian market with 5 bags, and in one of them to my hubby's horror 2 jars of Kimchi one normal napa one and one radish. Also stocked up on some yummy Korean ramen noodles, 2 bags of frozen rice cakes, pork and veggie dumplings, Kalbi marinade, sesame seeds, Enoki mushrooms and some meats. But I forgot to get the hot pepper paste, oh well. Next time.......

But here are my nails, to my horror the NYC Grand Central Station  topcoat shrinks this polish,.....
It was a stunning sunny day in SLC today so the glitter effect in this polish was just stunning. So silly I forgot my camera so I couldn't snap a picture in the sun.

Have a great weekend!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! I know I told my self to get more posts up this year, but so far I haven't done so good on posting here or stamping my nails as much as I would like. The joy of living in an area that gets really cold during the winter times comes the joy of sickness..... Just the last weeks we have had a few colds, some stomach bugs and bad coughs with fevers. Had to take my 2 year old little girl to the doctor yesterday, was an hour filled with a screaming scared child trying to get away from the doctor and nurse.
But I did my nails the other day and when that started to chip I just used a polish the next day to paint my nails. Had an idea for stamping over it, but after 2 hours of sleep the night before I felt like a zombie. Just one of those days I guess.

Today is Valentines Day and since we have small kids I don't think hubby and I will be going out to eat today, so I am planning to make something nice to eat here instead. So family V day dinner instead. But I packed a little nice surprise in my hubby's lunch bag today.

Now onto the nails, I have been babbling enough. LOL

Base color is China Glaze Dance Baby, then I stamped with Konad special polish in White and used plate Dashica SdP 35, on my ring finger nail I painted 2 coats of China Glaze BFF from the OMG collection.

I also got my nail bag from Nail Art Society, so I made a quick video. The FP polish I got was Romanticism Ruby. It's loaded with glitter, really pretty.

Hope you all have a nice Valentines Day. Thank you for stopping by.

Back to stamping.

Yes, I know I haven't done any stamping posts or videos in a while. Not been feeling it the last couple of months. I miss my brother who lost his battle to cancer a few years ago, and when it comes to holidays I always miss my grandparents. It didn't help that I broke my nails twice, so I was back to short stubs.... I hate it when my nails are short. But I guess I just have to kick my self in the butt and start doing my nails again. This Sunday's challenge in AIS is With An Accent Nail. And I was trying to figure out what to do. Then it hit me, lol. I have started to watch Korean TV dramas on hulu.com The first one was Jewel In The Palace/Dae Jang Geum, now I am watching Hwang Jin Yi. And one of the gown the main character is wearing just got my attention, so I decided to do a mani inspired by that.

I used a white Sally Hansen as base color on 4 of my nails and on the ring finger I used SH Insta Dri Rapid Red , I also used Rapid Red as stamping polish for the red flowers and the black French tip I used black stamping polish from Dashica.  The plates used for this look Bundle Monster 318 and Konad M19

Ring finger is like the skirt of her gown, and the other the top with the black ribbon.

Hope you all have a great week, and thanks for taking your time to read my little blog.

August 5 Challenge.

The theme for this Sunday's challenge using gold, silver or bronze.

But am I one of those who has the Olympic games on the TV 24/7? No, not a big sports fan. But in secret I cheer on Norway, USA, GB and S-Korea.
So I decided to do a black matte French tip with Silver stamps.
I used Wet N Wid Ebony Hates Chris, then a matte topcoat. And stamped with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Konad special polish in Black and Dashica XXL Big SdP 1 and SdP 12.

Left hand. My index finger nail hasn't been the same since a horse I was looking after when I was in my early teens kicked the stable door on it. So I always have to do French tip on that in a V shape.

On Friday I ordered the 2012 Bundle Monster set, I hope I get it soon. Like on my birthday mebbe.
I know I'm late getting it, but better late than never. I am working on a new project, and hoping to get the hang of it soon. Will be a surprise and I hope it won't be too long before I can announce what it is....

Hope you all have a great week.

Nails and bath time.

I have been doing stamping for a few years now, but haven't done a lot of the more than 1 colored images. And by the looks of this one I need to do some more so I can get the hang of it. I used on of my new summer polishes as base color, and 1 coat of SF topcoat and stamped with Konad Special polish in black and white and used my Dashica plate XXL Big SdP 1 and SdP 38. It's so humid in this apt these days so  on a few nails the white smudged, and I didn't use too much polish. I never cover more than half of the image and use a thin layer of polish. Never really had any need to cover the whole image with polish, my way worked. But anyways I think I want to redo this one and swap the stamping polishes out with the foiled ones from Pure Ice. Because of the smudging on some of the nails, I'm not too happy about this one.

So  after my nails was done and dry and an other evening trip to the park, it was time for bath time before bed. And they played nicely and shared all the toys. Before it was a struggle to get Daniel to take a bath, but now as soon as I run the water for Grace he comes running. The small tricks we parents know to get our way, what would we all do without them  LOL.

Any of you have a guilty pleasure of watching reality TV?  Mine right now are The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Orange County, I can't help it the joy of ladies with loads of money still can act like white trash. And of course Hell's Kitchen, I wouldn't go there to eat until like the end of the season. That Beef Wellington  when it's cooked the right way looks to die for.

Today's dinner here will be meatloaf with mashed potatoes all made from scratch and some BBQ on the side. Request from hubby. I wish it wasn't so dam hot here during the day, so we could go out and play and take walks. But Daniel and me don't do well in heat, we get really bad heat strokes his can make him throw up. I can deal with around 75 -80 degrees, any higher than that  the problems starts kicking in.

Well, anyways time to make lunch here so I better start before I get cranky kids. Have a good week.

Inspired By Music Stamping Challenge.

This week's Sunday stamping challenge in Adventures in Stamping was Inspired by music. This could be anything favorite within music: song lyrics, band, music style, song title, music video........ I thought this one was going to be easy, and I was thinking lyrics at first. LOL, yeah right, and I couldn't come up with anything on music that didn't have like notes, piano keys and so on. And then it hit me, a music video. Then the trick was to find the music video, but I decided to go with my favorite band of all times Duran Duran. And what are they known for??? Besides their music that is..... They always have models in their videos. The latest video that I can't get enough of is filled with them. So my entry for this weeks challenge is inspired from their music video Girl Panic.

For my nails I used my Ebony Hates Chris with SF and Silver Mercedes as base colors. Then I stamped with Konad Special Black, Silver Mercedes and Outrageous. The image plates I used was Konad M71, Bundle Monster 207, Dashica XXL Big 1 & Dashica SdP 40.

I am sorry about the pictures, I had a hard time finding a good angle and good lights without messing up the foil colors or the holo effect in the SF in Ebony Hates Chris. I deleted 53 pictures of this mani on my camera....

Happy Stamping.

Nail Stampin Haul

So I finally decided to get the Bundle Monster plates Set 2. After seeing so many nail bloggers and youtube nail gurus using them I ordered my own set. I am still trying them out, and so far I have noticed some images are better than others. I have had a couple smudge on me and some not getting the whole image on my stamper, and I have only been using Konad Special polishes.
Then I was so tired of damaging my plates with my normal scraper and tired of not getting even scrape off's with my old credit card, so I got the plastic scraper from Konad. And Oh My!!!! I love it it scrapes off the polishes nicely and without damaging my plates. I am getting a couple more for backup later. I also got two more Konad plates and 2 polishes in the princess size and 1 normal sized. I was almost out of my white so I got that in princess size along with Pop Green and a standard bottle in black. The plates I got was M84 and M85 and I just love these two plates. I am so happy I have some more plates to play with now I only need a few more polishes to play with too. I got one so far Essie's Bbf

Mint green Art Deco nails.

So I did an other art deco nails using the same stamping image, but in other colors.
The items I used:

Seche Vite ridge filling base coat
Essie's Mint Candy Apple
Out The Door Topcoat
Konad plate 83
Konad Special polish in white
Konad topcoat

Art Deco Nails.

This nail look reminds me of some art deco wallpaper. But I just LOVE it, so I have to do this design in some other colors later on.

The products I used:
Seche Vite Base Coat
China Glaze FYI - OMG collection
Out The Door Topcoat
Konad IM plate M83
Konad special polish in Chocolate
Konad's Topcoat

Just so you know when I do my nails my 4 year old likes to watch and he likes to play with all my nail polish bottles and set them up like toy soldiers. He just loves looking at all the colors and he loves telling me what colors they all are while I'm doing my nails. Then sometimes he sneaks a finger or two closer and closer in hopes that mommy will paint his nails. And I sometimes do in green or blue, and he will then give me a BIG smile and goes away to peel it off after it's dried.Who said nail polishes was only for girls, boys can have some fun with them too, LOL.
