Fun With Hello Kitty! A Stamping Decal....

I thought it was time to do a stamping decal tutorial. I haven't done many of these, last one I did was for Easter a few months ago. I like doing the stamping decals, but to make sure I don't mess anything up with kids bumping into my work table or climbing all over me.... So I have to do these while they are sound asleep in their beds. I don't dare to think about what the decals would look like if the kids were climbing all over me while filling in the colors.

So are you ready??? Here are all the items I used for these nails.

  • Base color:  OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender
  • Image Plates: FUN 9 (Hello Kitty Plate) & Dashica Big SdP F
  • Konad stampers (standard & double sided for decals)
  • XL Stamper
  • Konad Special Polish: Black
  • China Glaze: Purr-Fect Plum
  • Acrylic Paints: Oumaxi
  • Detail brushes
  • Water in a glass to clean your brush
  • Topcoats: NYC Grand Central Station & Out The Door
  • Tweezers
  • Fan brush

Here's what I did for the decals:
  1.  Apply 2 coats of  base polish and let it dry. Then I grabbed my Konad stampers, special polish and my FUN 9 plate.
  2.  Pick an image that has mostly outline of a character/item/logo, like an image in a coloring book. Apply the stamping polish to the image, scrape and stamp.  Leave the stamped image on the stamper!! And let it dry on the stamper for a minute or two before moving on to the next step.
  3. Fill in the image with acrylic paints or polish in any color of your choice. I find it easier to do with acrylic paints than polish. Let it dry for a few minutes and do a second coat of paint/polish if needed. Let the image dry completely.
  4. Apply topcoat over and around the image. Let it dry. For this I used the NYC topcoat.
  5. When dry, gently start peeling off the decal from the stamper. But don't remove it completely.
  6. Apply a coat of topcoat to your nail and before it dries......
  7. Remove the decal from the stamper and place it on your nail.
  8. Apply a coat of your favorite fast drying topcoat.
Between step 4 & 5 while I was waiting for the decals to dry on the stampers, I stamped the background image on my nails.

Here's my youtube tutorial of this mani. Step by step how I did these nails.

Final look

Time to go to bed, before I turn into a raccoon... Takes time making video, snap pictures, editing, uploading and blogging. Thank goodness I don't think I have to go any places today, if I do thank goodness for concealers.... LOL.

Hope you liked this one.
Have a great week.
Happy Stamping.

Stamping Test Fab Ur Nails Fun 9.

Here is the first test of my Fab Ur Nails plates I got in the mail yesterday. Was so exited to try using a Fab plate for the first time. I want to thank the very sweet Fab Ur Nails for giving me these plates.
First up is FUN 9 one of the 2 Hello Kitty plates, yes I got them both. So if you don't like HK then ignore this and the next plate test post. Because next one will be HK too. But if you love Hello Kitty as much as I do then stay put. LOL.Yes, I am soon 36 years old, but who cares I still love HK. I am not ashamed to admit it.

I applied a coat of one of my cheap Wet N Wild polishes as base, and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes/Silver Star to stamp. One of the images got a bit messed up, but that is the darn heat and running the A/C 24/7 these days.

But what is my first impression stamping with this plate? I am amazed by the stamping quality of this plate. It's like stamping with my Dashica's or my Nailz Craze plate. And I didn't have any problems getting the images onto my soft & squishy stampers. I prefer using these stampers because my nails are very curved.
Yes, this is my first Fab plate that I have tried. And I can see why so many of my nail friends love these plates. Really cool images that stamp AMAZING. I can't wait to do a full mani with this plate. The hard part will be picking the image I want to use first. There are SOOO many cute HK on this plate. And a few full nail images that are HK themed or just cute and go well with HK. These plates are smaller than the Dashica Big plates, but they're still packed with images. I was a bit worried that I some of these images wouldn't fit on my narrow nails. But there was no reason for me to worry, all the images I tried I got on my nails without any part of HK missing or being stamped on my cuticles instead.

No wonder so many of my nail friends love these plates. I am very happy with this plate and it looks like I have an other favorite brand of plates, Dashica and Fab Ur Nails. I just can't wait to test the next plate.

Again, thank you so much Fab Ur Nails for giving me these plates. Very happy with them so far. Yes, still have to try 3 more plates but I am sure they'll stamp amazing too.

"FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN!!"

These days it's a lot of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic in this home. And  for this post I thought of quoting Pinkie Pie: "Fun, fun, fun, fun" Reason? Because I got my first Fun plates from Fab Ur Nails. My fellow nail stamping friend Kerrie mentioned that there was going to be a new Fun plate in the making but there was some room for more images so if I had any ideas I could send it to her and she would  send them in for me. So I fired off a few images, but when I was done I had a bunch of other image suggestions hit me. So I sent a PM to Fab Ur Nails and sent a few emails with A LOT of image suggestions, and yes there was A LOT of images in each email. I had so much fun searching for the images, and I see how these ladies who makes these plates now say it takes a lot of time. Just searching for the images I realized you just can't use the first one you spot.

I haven't tried any of these plates before, they have been on my wish list. There has been a few images that I would love to have in my collection that can only be found on Fun plates. After chatting on facebook for a while about the images I sent, I told her that I couldn't wait to see the images on the new plate. And I told her  I'm hoping I'll get some birthday money this year, so I can buy my first Fun plates (was a few that caught my eye of the ones released last month).
Then the lovely Fab Ur Nails said I could pick 4 plates as thanks for ALL the images I sent her. Needless to say I was shocked, and I felt like I had just won the Jackpot in the lottery. Thank you, Fab Ur Nails you truly made my week. Then came the hardest part picking the plates I wanted. There is no secret I love Hello Kitty, so I had to pick the 2 Hello Kitty plates Fun 9 and Fun 10, then I picked Fun 11 for one image that I just WANTED because my oldest son has been a Link fan since he was 3 years old. So I knew I needed that one Zelda image..... I know it's nuts to pick a plate with just one image, and no I have done it a few times now..... LOL. The last plate I picked was Fun 12 for all the polish names and brand logos. And the image Nail Mail, hehehe.

I have seen so many great nails with Fab Ur Nails images on them, there are a few ladies in AIS who says that these are their favorite plates. I can't wait to try them out. But first let's just do a quick first look at the plates.

They have good backing, so the edges aren't sharp.

Fun 9 and the plastic peeled off very easy.

So many cute HK images.

 Fun 10

Even more cute HK images.

Fun 11 can you see the Zelda logo??? The only reason why I picked this plate. Nuts.

Fun 12

If you want to buy these plates there are only 2 ways to get your hands on all the plates from Fab Ur Nails, I will link them below.

Fab Ur Nails facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/faburnails

If you buy them from Fab Ur Nails they will ship from Manila, Philippines. Was about 1 1/2 week for the plates to get from there to me in SLC. Not bad at all.

I will try and do stamping tests of these this weekend. But it's also my second son's birthday on Sunday. So if I can't get them all done this weekend I will get it done during next week. So look out for those posts and videos.

Lastly I want to thank the lovely Fab Ur Nails for sending me these plates. So sweet of her to let me pick these plates. She her self is an amazing stamper, she has inspired me quite a few times with her amazing talent. Just check out the facebook page and you can see for your self.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
