Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! I know I told my self to get more posts up this year, but so far I haven't done so good on posting here or stamping my nails as much as I would like. The joy of living in an area that gets really cold during the winter times comes the joy of sickness..... Just the last weeks we have had a few colds, some stomach bugs and bad coughs with fevers. Had to take my 2 year old little girl to the doctor yesterday, was an hour filled with a screaming scared child trying to get away from the doctor and nurse.
But I did my nails the other day and when that started to chip I just used a polish the next day to paint my nails. Had an idea for stamping over it, but after 2 hours of sleep the night before I felt like a zombie. Just one of those days I guess.

Today is Valentines Day and since we have small kids I don't think hubby and I will be going out to eat today, so I am planning to make something nice to eat here instead. So family V day dinner instead. But I packed a little nice surprise in my hubby's lunch bag today.

Now onto the nails, I have been babbling enough. LOL

Base color is China Glaze Dance Baby, then I stamped with Konad special polish in White and used plate Dashica SdP 35, on my ring finger nail I painted 2 coats of China Glaze BFF from the OMG collection.

I also got my nail bag from Nail Art Society, so I made a quick video. The FP polish I got was Romanticism Ruby. It's loaded with glitter, really pretty.

Hope you all have a nice Valentines Day. Thank you for stopping by.

3 mani's in one day.....

Why  only do one manicure when you can do 3...
Just one of those days, you can't make up your mind on what polish or image to use. So when it hits me I change my manicure just after a few hours.
First I used one of the polishes from China Glaze's Safari Collection as base color.Purr-Fect Plum, then I did  a coat of Orly Too Fab on my left hand. On my right hand I did some stamping with Bold Gold from Maybelline and picked CH 44 from Cheeky's summer collection.
I kept the stamping mani, but removed the glitter one.....

My 3 rd look I used OPI Jade Is The New Black as base and stamped with Bold Gold again and used Dashica SdP 35. Today's challenge in AIS was leaves. I also did a French tip with Matte top coat, but it's kinda hard to see in the pictures.

March 25 2012 Challenge Black & White.

This week's Sunday challenge in the Facebook group Adventures In Stamping was black and white.

I decided to add some SpectraFlair to Wet N Wild's Ebony Hates Chris, and use that as my base color and stamp with Konad Special polish in Black and White, and my current favorite image plate brand Dashica XXL Big SdP 1, SdP 32, 35 and 47.

Right hand: SdP 47 for the background SdP 35 Hello Kitty

Left Hand: SdP 32 starry background and XXL Big SdP1 and Playboy bunny.

Ebony Hates Chris that I mixed a pinch of SpectraFlair.

Dashica Image plates haul.

So for a while now I have been drooling at the image plates from Dashica Beauty Shop, a online beauty shop based in Netherland. And after playing nurse in January for my husband after he got out of the hospital, he agreed that my reward would be Dashica image plates. I finally got ready to order, but had several questions and concerns so I wrote an email to Shirley with my questions. She replied back the next day, since she's in GMT time zone and I am MST. So after a few emails back and forth I was ready to place my order. I waited for 10 business days for my order to arrive, the package was wrapped up really well. And she had also added 2 tiny gifts a plastic scraper and 1 sheet of water decals. I was super impressed when I saw the plates. They all had good back stickers to them, so the edges aren't sharp. Even some of my Konad have sharp edges, so I've been nervous when my kids has taken a closer look at them.
I liked the fact that the full nail images are bigger than Konad's so I won't have problems getting the image to cover my nails. Something that was driving me nuts with Konad's was that even tho they are $6.99 a plate and that you would think that you wouldn't have any problems getting the image to your nail. But I have a few plates I can't get the whole image to stick on my stamper.
So with that in mind I tested the Dasica plates and with very fine detailed designs I had no problems at all getting the whole image on the stamper and then on my nail. An other thing I love about Dashica plates is that they have a lot of paired images, meaning the same image but they're mirrored for designs for both hands.

And the  SdP plates have more images than Konad. has on their plates. A Dashica SdP plate costs 3.80 Euro's that converts to about $ 5.00 US.
Yes, you have to pay for shipping too. But I think it's worth it, for the quality on the plates and the stamping results on your nails.

Oh, and the plastic scraper I got as a gift..... I LOVE IT!!! It's way better than my Konad plastic scraper that I have to scrape 2-3 times over the images. I am so ordering some of those for back ups next time I decide to  get more plates, and mark my words I will be ordering more plates later on. I am hooked on these plates, so many pretty images on each plate.
Here are the items I ordered, I hope you enjoy.
