Off To See Captain America.

So we did plan to go and see Captain America at the drive-in theater. So I wanted to do some Captain America nails. But my 3 year old threw up again during the night so doubt it will be today..... But at least my nails are done and ready...

I did the base color with Catrice Make Fast At Tiffany's, then Sinful Colors Gold Medal.
I used the Captain America image on FUN 11 from Fab Ur Nails and the comic book word from Cheeky CH47 and used stamping polishes from Konad, Dashica and a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish in Rapid Red. I tried using a gold holographic foil on my right hand, but was a fail since when I applied topcoat to glue the stamping decal the foil got messed up. So I had to do the Gold Medal instead on my left hand. I used some acrylic paint to fill in the stamping decal and a very fine brush from Fab Ur Nails 24 Dance, it's just amazing. So glad I got a back up brush of that one. I have to try and do some free hand nail art with that brush later on.

So as I said my 3 year old threw up again, and of course she couldn't do it into the plastic tub. No she had to throw up all over the bed, all over the pillows, covers, stuffed animals. Oh, swell have to do a load of laundry now at 4 am in the morning. No sleep for me tonight....

But yeah, all of these are going on my wish list, like that list isn't long enough already. Good to know I am not the only one out there who's credit card is in grave danger..... LOL

Cloud Atlas Inspired Nails.

I wanted to do these nails after I saw the 5 minute trailer for Cloud Atlas for the first time. I had an idea in my mind but had to figure out  how to get the design onto my nails. After a couple of practice rounds on practice stones and nail lollipops I was ready to do this look on my nails.

Now onto the stamping part the lady and the gentleman on the thumb meeting each other, in the trailer they show a lady in a day gown meeting the gentleman that is shown moments before wearing a top hat. The writing on index finger is for the old letters Halle Berry's character is reading  and the half written old journal that the lawyer wrote. And the piano and music keys are the composer. The image of the couple on ring finger is for all the characters falling in love in different ages. And last the ship the lawyer was on when he wrote his journal. I  used plates from three brands Bundle Monster, Cheeky and Dashica.
And the plate I used for each finger: thumb, Dashica SdP 80, index finger BM 311, middle finger BM 207 and CH 31 (picked out single music keys), ring finger Dashica SdP 60 and little finger CH 49 (1 ship from the full nail image). I started out using my Konad polish in Black, but that was too thick on some of the images so I swapped to Dashica's stamping polish in Black.
I had fun doing this one, and I am happy how it turned out.

I can't wait to see this movie in the theater. My hubby has been watching the trailers like crazy, I have lost count. And he wants to get the soundtrack for this movie, yeah he is hooked on this movie already. LOL. But I can't blame him, of what I have seen this movie is going to make my jaw drop to the floor. Bet it's going to be the big winner of the Oscar's next year. And just in case you haven't seen the 5 minute trailer I added it down below. Enjoy and start drooling, I can't wait, I'll be armed with a drink, popcorn and Milk Duds when I go. And I know hubby is even more exited about this move than I am, so he can't wait either. 3 mani's in one day.....

Why  only do one manicure when you can do 3...

Just one of those days, you can't make up your mind on what polish or image to use. So when it hits me I change my manicure just after a few hours. 

First I used one of the polishes from China Glaze's Safari Collection as base color.Purr-Fect Plum, then I did  a coat of Orly Too Fab on my left hand. On my right hand I did some stamping with Bold Gold from Maybelline and picked CH 44 from Cheeky's summer collection. 

I kept the stamping mani, but removed the glitter one.....

My 3 rd look I used OPI Jade Is The New Black as base and stamped with Bold Gold again and used Dashica SdP 35. Today's challenge in AIS was leaves. I also did a French tip with Matte top coat, but it's kinda hard to see in the pictures.

I have shown you the previews of the new plates from Dashica Beauty shop and Bundle Monster's new image plate set. You ready for more??? Cheeky is also releasing a new set and it will be out by t he end of May or beginning of June. The first preview is perfect for us girls who love shopping, it's super cute. I will keep this post updated and add the previews as Cheeky releases them.
