Easter Nails.

I did this mani, a couple of days ago and used polish to fill in the image. But I wasn't too happy about it, some of the colors didn't show up as well as I would have liked. So I decided to redo and re-shoot the nails and tutorial for it.
I used the same base and images, but instead of polish to fill in the image I used acrylic paints. And I saw this first from Messy Mansion's picture tutorial, and decided to try this out my self and make a youtube tutorial.

Here are the items and plates I used for this mani:

Base color: Essie Sugar Daddy
Konad stampers
Plastic scraper from Dashica
Konad Special polish: White
Acrylic Paints: Oumaxi
Loew-Cornell Soft Comfort: 18/0 Spotter
Dashica XXL SdP 1: Easter Egg image
Dashica XXL SdP 2: A bunny from the full image of bunnies, for thumb and ring finger nails.
NYC Grand Central Station (my topcoat I use over base color before stamping)
Out The Door topcoat to seal in the mani at the end.

This kinda stamping takes a bit longer than normal, since you have to wait for the image to dry on the stamper after each step. If you're looking for a 5 min stamped manicure, this is not it. But it's worth it, well in my book anyways.

Here's what I did:

1. Apply your base color over your dry base coat, and let it dry.
2. Apply 1 coat of topcoat to seal in the base color, so if you make a mistake while stamping you can   remove the failed image with a q-tip dipped in acetone. And let it dry.
3. Stamp the bunny image onto your nail.

Now onto the next part:
4. Apply polish to the image of your choice, scrape and pick it up with your stamper and let it dry before moving on.
5. Pick out the colors of polish or acrylic paints you want to fill in the image and a fine detailed brush. Let it dry. If needed fill in an other coat and let dry.
6. Apply topcoat over the image and  a bit around the image
7. Gently peel off the image from your stamper with tweezers or a toothpick.
8. Apply a coat of topcoat/clear polish on your nail, and while wet place the image onto your nail.
9. Pat the image gently with your finger onto your nail or use a dry and clean brush to do this(I used a brush).
10. Apply your favorite fast drying topcoat to seal in the design.

The video tutorial.

Hope you liked this one.
Have a great Easter.

Sunday dinner & nail stamping.

Hubby and I don't get the chance to go out much to have nice dinners without the kids. So I do the next best thing sometimes, make some great meals at home. Today was one of those days, first for lunch/snack was bruschetta and some nice Italian deli meats and some Provolone cheese. Then I prepped a porkloin roast with spinach, provolone with some asparagus on the side. And then I managed to cut my finger, so much for a neat looking mani.... Mani with band aid instead... LOL.

Before it went in the oven.

For this Sunday challenge in AIS was stamping and dotting tool, so I decided to do a French mani. The base for the French mani was Orly Forst Kiss and White Orchid from Julie G's collection. Then I used my Dashica XXL SdP 2 plate and one of my Dashica stamping polishes, don't know the name because I don't have the sticker on it. Then I used one of my dotting tools for some details.

Hope you all have a great week, thanks for stopping by to read my post.

Sunday 4th Nov Challenge and Sickness.

Today's Challenge in AIS was Over Glitter, so stamping over a glitter base. I did the base on Friday, first I used 2 coats of Elmer's glue (for easy removal), 2 coats of Color Club Magic Attraction and then 1 coat of China Glaze Techno and sealed it with Out The Door topcoat.
My plan was to do the stamping yesterday, but I have kids, hubby and granny in-law with bad colds. So I had m hands full yesterday. Well today with the colds Daniel woke up with some kind of stomach bug, so he has been throwing up left and right. But I managed to do some really quick stamping while he was resting in between being sick. So I had to make it simple and easy in case I had to rush away in a hurry.

I decided to use my Dashica XXL Big SdP 2 plate and Dashica stamping polish in black. I hope you like this one. Now back to tend to sick kids, granny in-law and hubby.

Have a great week.

Testing Dashica XXL SdP 2 Plate.

I was really exited when I heard that Shirley was going to release a second XXL plate. I love my XXL SdP 1 plate so much, I keep using it. So I knew I had to get this plate too, it has a few more images than the XXL SdP 1 plate. And again something for everyone for any occasion.
When you go to http://www.dashicabeautyshop.nl/ you can't see all the images clearly, so I got a few surprises when I got my plate and saw the images in detail. Think the Nintendo characters was the winning images for me, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Peach.

I picked 10 random designs to stamp onto my nails, some full nail images and single images. I also wanted to do a quick test of 3 of the Dashica Special Stamping polishes in Black, Pastel Blue and Jade. I have to say I really like these polishes. Some of them works amazing over a black nail polish, but I will do a video on the stamping polishes later. But now on to the video of my stamping test.
Hope you enjoy it.

The 10 images I stamped  did pretty well. You can't really see it on the picture the feather on my let hand on my ring finger. But in person you see all the details on the feather, and that for me shows the quality in these plates. Just bugs me I couldn't get my Canon snapshot to pick it up..... Grrrrrrrr

And to finish this post the two pictures of my stamped nails.
Left hand.

Right Hand.

Hope you liked this review and that it was helpful.

Dashica XXL SdP 2 Plate

This is the 2 nd XXL plate from Dashica. I think I counted 378 images on it, and they all look amazing. I see a couple images that are the same as two of my older SdP plates. But I don't mind that at all.
I was so happy when I saw some of the images on this plate, my oldest son will be happy when I use these images on my nails..... Mario, Luigi & Toad... Finally someone added game characters to a plate. THANK YOU, SHIRLEY!!! There are so many images on this plate something for everyone: full nail images, cartoon characters, holiday images, flowers etc.
I have to say when I saw the preview of this plate I was all this looks OK, but of course you can't see all the images on a preview picture. So happy that I got this one, think this will be my favorite XXL plate of the two. And yes, the Nintendo characters is a big reason for that since my son loves Nintendo characters and my ex-hubby (who is still a good friend is a big gamer too) Just hope the next XXL plate has some Zelda images on it, that would make their day. Since Thomas has been a big Link fan since he was 3 years old.
But back to topic, I know I will be using this plate a lot. So many ideas hit me. If I was to recommend a plate I think this would be the one. Just because of the number of images you get and the variety of images you get for 39.99 Euros or $52 US. I will try and shoot a video with closeup of this plate and add it to this post later tonight or tomorrow, since you can't really get all of the details in a picture.

Here's the link to this plate on Dashica's webshop:

Again.. Thanks, Shirley you have released an other amazing plate with so many cool designs. I don't know how you do it.
Thanks for popping by and reading my tiny blog.
