Holy Holo Nails Under The Hot Summer Sun.

The first holographic polish I had was China Glaze LOL, at the time we lived in sunny Long  Beach. And I just fell in love with the holo effect when I went outside in the sun. I couldn't stop staring at my nails, since then I have been a holo junkie. I don't have that many holo polishes, there are a few on my wish list. But I have 2 grades of SpectraFlair the holographic pigment you can add to polish or topcoat. So I can make normal polishes look holo with a couple of coats of my topcoats that has the SF mixed into it.
But today I wanted to use two of my holographic polishes from Color Club, not any of the new ones. I haven't been able to find those in any stores here in Salt Lake City. I guess I just have to cave in and buy them online. Anyways the two I used as my base today is Fashion Addict (light pink holo) & Worth The Risque (silver). I don't like the finished feel to these polishes, and just in case the holo effect will dull under topcoat, I applied 1 coat of my fine grade SF topcoat. So I still get the holo effect with some beautiful shine, YAY.

Then it was time to decide what plate and image to use over these stunning holos. You don't want to cover up holographic polishes too much so you loose the pretty rainbow effect. I decided to try out one of my new Dashica Dash plates so I picked an image from Dash 34. I wanted to stamp with black, but decided to try the black holographic from Color Club that I have Revvvolution (Yes, that is how it's spelled on the label). It worked pretty well as a stamping polish.

When I was done the pain of getting a good picture of the manicure started.  You know how it is with glitters and holographic polishes, it's a hassle to get the perfect picture. Thank goodness we live in a digital age.... Can you imagine how many rolls of film nail bloggers would have to throw away if we still used the old cameras???

The final look, under a hot sun in Salt Lake City.

Moving on to random non nail related, the other day while we were eating dinner my 2 1/2 was playing with some block on her chair while we were eating. When we were done my hubby told me to look at what she had spelled out with her blocks. Needless to say my eyes went big and I giggled like crazy. So he asked aren't you going to run and grab your phone and share this on your instagram and fb? Before he was done asking the question I had grabbed my phone and snapped  picture.

Now back to nurse away this dam cold we have had in our home the past 2 weeks, all of the others had it and now I guess it was my turn...... I hate summer colds, they always hit me really bad when I get them.
Hope my dear followers get to enjoy summer.

Until next time, HAPPY STAMPING.

Yay, it's Friday.

Happy Friday!!

A short post about the nails I did today. I used 2 polishes for my base color, on thumb and ring finger I used White Orchid from Julie G. It's applies really well, I only needed 1 coat. The other fingers I applied 2 coats of OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender. Then I pulled out one of my Bundle Monster plates BM 301, and picked out the lavender stamping polish from Dashica and stamped over the white polish.
Then I used 2 coats of my SpectraFlair topcoat and added some bling to thumb and ring finger nails.
The trick was getting a good picture of the finished manicure, not easy when you have holo and bling on your nails.

Have a great weekend.

Moody For Purple.

My nails had been naked for 2 whole days (CRAZY, I know). But I couldn't come up with anything, and all that was in my head was French mani's. I hate it when I'm stuck like that, you see all those stunning manicures all over the place and want to do some neat designs your self. So when you sit down and try to figure out what to do you're just STUCK.
But last night I got an idea, so I worked on the base before I crashed into my pillows for the night. I used Julep's Grace and Orly's Charged Up, then on 3 nails I did 2 coats of China Glaze's No Plain Jane and 2 coats of SpectraFlair topcoat. And made some fine silver stripes with my Kiss silver nail art liner.
On the two non holo nails I picked out an image from SH 208 and used one of my Dashica stamping polishes (don't ask me the name of the color, it doesn't have a sticker on it.) Then in the center of the flower I used a decal from the little container I got in one of my NAS bags.

You can find Julep polishes here:

Finished look.

 An other final look.

Now off to make Korean dumplings for dinner, yes I am making them. I am using ready made dumpling skins but rest is from scratch. Have a good day, and thanks for stopping by.

Breast Cancer Awareness Nails.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. So time for me to do my Pink Ribbon nails too. I know there are a lot of bloggers who have done the same. I decided to do this in honor of one of my mother's 3 best friends who lost her battle to breast cancer a few years ago. She was an amazing lady, I loved talking to her. So many fond memories with dinner parties with her and her family and our gang.  I know my mother miss her, we talked about her a few weeks ago. Just as my parents she and her husband adopted a child from South-Korea too, a boy. He's a few years older than me, but that was one of the things they had in common. They also worked together for years, and I had the pleasure of working for my mother and her for a few weeks with people with special needs. She had this amazing laugh and her uplifting spirit could turn your day from bad to great.  So this manicure is for you, Aase. We miss you.

For these nails I used China Glaze Dance Baby as base color, 2 coats of my SpectraFlair topcoat, then Essie Miami Nice to stamp and Bundle Monster 321.

My Ovarian Cancer Awareness Manicure.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, so I am doing my manicure to support this cause.
Every year 20.000 women in the US get diagnosed with this disease, and about 15.000 die each year of Ovarian Cancer. And that is just in the US alone, just think of how high this number is world wide....

For this manicure I used OPI Teal The Cows Come Home as base color, then I applied 2 coats of my topcoat w/SpectraFlair, and Bundle Monster plate 321 and stamped with OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui.

It looks amazing in the sunlight, but is a pain to get the effect on a picture. To end this post I am adding two links:

Have a good night.

AIS manicure for Sunday 19 August.

This Sunday's challenge the theme is Can't Wait For Fall, use fall colors, images or both.
I decided to use OPI Just Spotted The Lizard from The Spiderman Collection as base color, then I used 2 coats of SF topcoat 1500-14 fine grade. For the stamping I used Bundle Monster 316 and Dashica XXL SdP1 and Konad special polish in Chocolate and Pop Green.
Was kinda bummed that you can't see the green image as well as the brown one on the picture and video. I used granny in-laws LED daylight crafting light  while shooting the video. So I hope the lighting was better in this one.

Here are two pictures, hoping you'll see the green better on those.

I have been trying a new topcoat for my stamping, Poshe Fast Drying Topcoat. I love it, it dries fast and doesn't smudge and it leaves your nails SO shiny. Only thing I don't like the smell of it. I also got a acetone pump bottle from MoYou, it leaks like crazy from under the cap. But I have a replacement on the way.
The finegrade SF topcoat I used my https://copious.com credits to get, and I got 2 mini bottles. I like it as much as I do the coarse grade, so I have to keep an eye out on ebay for 1 gram of this stuff.
On other note, my 6 year old starts school on Wednesday. So we're prepping for that, but will try and make an other post this week.

Have a great week.
Use some amazing looking polish and show off your nails, you don't have to do nail art.

Something I Love July 8th Challenge.

This Sunday's challenge in Adventures In Stamping is Something I Love.
The trick was to pick what of my loves to do on my nails, there's so many things I love....
Then it hit me, I love chocolate, Hello Kitty, holographic nail polish and SpectraFlair.
The base color is Revlon's Hot For Chocolate (love this color), Then I used the Hello Kitty images from Dashica SdP 13  and 33 and used China Glaze FYI to stamp, made 3 French tips with my SF topcoat and a full coat on my ring finger & thumb.

I couldn't get a good picture of the thumb....
(>_<);

Any of you crazy about one or two colors this summer?  I am going nuts for purples and mint colors.

As always have a great week.
Happy stamping!!!

Nails and bath time.

I have been doing stamping for a few years now, but haven't done a lot of the more than 1 colored images. And by the looks of this one I need to do some more so I can get the hang of it. I used on of my new summer polishes as base color, and 1 coat of SF topcoat and stamped with Konad Special polish in black and white and used my Dashica plate XXL Big SdP 1 and SdP 38. It's so humid in this apt these days so  on a few nails the white smudged, and I didn't use too much polish. I never cover more than half of the image and use a thin layer of polish. Never really had any need to cover the whole image with polish, my way worked. But anyways I think I want to redo this one and swap the stamping polishes out with the foiled ones from Pure Ice. Because of the smudging on some of the nails, I'm not too happy about this one.

So  after my nails was done and dry and an other evening trip to the park, it was time for bath time before bed. And they played nicely and shared all the toys. Before it was a struggle to get Daniel to take a bath, but now as soon as I run the water for Grace he comes running. The small tricks we parents know to get our way, what would we all do without them  LOL.

Any of you have a guilty pleasure of watching reality TV?  Mine right now are The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Orange County, I can't help it the joy of ladies with loads of money still can act like white trash. And of course Hell's Kitchen, I wouldn't go there to eat until like the end of the season. That Beef Wellington  when it's cooked the right way looks to die for.

Today's dinner here will be meatloaf with mashed potatoes all made from scratch and some BBQ on the side. Request from hubby. I wish it wasn't so dam hot here during the day, so we could go out and play and take walks. But Daniel and me don't do well in heat, we get really bad heat strokes his can make him throw up. I can deal with around 75 -80 degrees, any higher than that  the problems starts kicking in.

Well, anyways time to make lunch here so I better start before I get cranky kids. Have a good week.

Holy Holo!!

I know I have been going on about SpectraFlair before, but today I wanted to try something. I did 2 coats of Pure Ice Outrageous as base color and thought; What if I apply some of my SF topcoat..... Will it work??
So I did 2 coats and all I can says is HOLY HOLO!!!
The holo effect is AMAZING, mega flashback to China Glaze OMG collection ( I had a few of those polishes, and loved them). And all of the pictures I have seen of the holo's from Nfu Oh, that I was never able to get my hands on. For those of you who doesn't know, Pure Ice you can get from Walmart. Outrageous is a pink foil polish that is amazing to stamp with. And now I will so use it as base under SF, so if Outrageous works I bet Pussy Cat and Silver Mercedes will too. OMG.....!!!!! I wonder if Silver Mercedes will be like OMG......... I SO have to try that out. But here is the picture of Outrageous and SF. Enjoy, I am. I'm just bummed sun is going down......

Have a smashing weekend. And to all of my American followers, have a great Mother's Day if you're a mom or have an amazing day with your mommy if you're just a daughter.

Left Hand: SdP 32 starry background and XXL Big SdP1 and Playboy bunny.

Early Thursday morning mani.

I have figured out if I want a cute mani, do it while the rest of the house sleeps. Why? So there's a good chance for mommy not to get up all of a sudden with wet polished nails to run after kids, answer the phone, tell dog not to steal kids snack and so on. Today I decided to do a French tip mani with some stamping. I used my Sally Hansen Triple Strong as base, then China Glaze Dance Baby (Yeah, I know I have been using that a lot lately, I just like it.), then yeah you guessed right my top coat with SpectraFlair AGAIN over the pink, and used Out The Door to seal before I used Konad Special polish in White to stamp. I decided to do French tip on all fingers but the ring finger, then I used two Dashica plates. A tiny flower from Dashica SdP 12 for the French tip, then a full nail image for ring finger from SdP 38. Then as normal sealed the images with a coat of Out The Door top coat.

Hope you like it.

Have a great day, ladies.

2 Dashica mani

So here are the 3 mani's I have had on my nails since Friday.

I had some fun with SpectraFlair and my new Dashica stamping plates, I just love using these. I am afraid I am going to run out of SpactraFlair, because I can't stop using it. Needless to say I am a holo junkie, I can't help it. So far the images I have picked from my Dashica plates have all been really great, the image gets picked up on my stamper and goes really clear on my nail. I haven't had many failed images, like I do with Konad or Bundle Monster. Next time I will try one of those other images with very fine lines and details again.

SpectraFlair!

So a few weeks ago I stumbled across a youtube video, yes it was a nail one: Making Holographic Nail polishes  with SpectraFlait. Well, it had the word holographic in it so I clicked it. And oh my, I felt  like I had won the lottery. After I was done watching that video a few times I started searching like crazy for other guru's or bloggers. And the more I found, just ended with me wanting to get my hands on this "magical" pigment. Finally I found a blogger in Australia who sells this by gram so I talked my husband into using his PayPal account to order      a tiny jar with 1 gram of SpectraFlair. And after 11 looooooooooong days of waiting it was in my mail box. I had some metallic monster beads ready along with a basic top coat I got from the drug store.

As the guru on the youtube video said I only needed a tiny dash of this pigment to the topcoat. And Oh my gosh, it made it HOLOGRAPHIC.  Finally I don't have to go all crazy for finding new holo polishes since I used up my China Glaze OMG Collection ones. I tried Nubar's holo's and they suck, sorry about the language but they do.... When you have to apply like 4-6 coats to get some holo effect on your nails, it's CRAP. And I don't have the money to spend $13-25 for 1 holo polish, not when I use them up in no time. Yes, I admit it I AM A HOLO POLISH JUNKIE......

But back to the topic, there are 3 grades of SpectraFlair 1500-14, 1500-20 & 1500-35. I got the 1500-35 coarse grade and the one that shows the holo effect the most, it is still super fine. And you only need a tiny dash of the pigment so 1 gram of pigment is enough for 8-10 poilishes. Anyways I love it, and I feel like I have found the pot of gold. Here are some swatches and then 2 looks on my nail. The swatches will show the nail color on the left and then on the right the color with the SpectraFlair top coat. I am sorry that on a couple of the swatches you can't really see the effect that well, I had really bad lighting when I snapped the pictures. And again I mixed some into a top coat from Wet n Wild, I will mix it into one of my favorite top coats later.
