Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
If you truly celebrate this day, or if it's just an excuse for you to have a few drinks LOL, never the less Happy St. Patrick's Day.
15 years ago I went to Ireland on a summer holiday, and I loved it there. All the people I met were all very friendly and welcoming. And I went to some tiny villages that an Asian chick wasn't a normal sight, but still got invited to have a pint with them at their table. And at one of the local pubs in Tuam I had the best Irish stew, ever.....  It was one of the best vacations I have had, so I guess every year St. Patrick's Day I always think back to that 3 week trip.

Anyways St. Patrick's Day is also this Sunday's theme in AIS, so I had to do my nails.
I used Essie's Mint Candy Apple as base (it's one of my favorites), then I used a plate from Shany SH219 and stamped with Dashica Jade Green and Maybelline's Bold Gold.

Have a great week, and as always thank you for stopping by.

Moody For Purple.

My nails had been naked for 2 whole days (CRAZY, I know). But I couldn't come up with anything, and all that was in my head was French mani's. I hate it when I'm stuck like that, you see all those stunning manicures all over the place and want to do some neat designs your self. So when you sit down and try to figure out what to do you're just STUCK.
But last night I got an idea, so I worked on the base before I crashed into my pillows for the night. I used Julep's Grace and Orly's Charged Up, then on 3 nails I did 2 coats of China Glaze's No Plain Jane and 2 coats of SpectraFlair topcoat. And made some fine silver stripes with my Kiss silver nail art liner.
On the two non holo nails I picked out an image from SH 208 and used one of my Dashica stamping polishes (don't ask me the name of the color, it doesn't have a sticker on it.) Then in the center of the flower I used a decal from the little container I got in one of my NAS bags.

You can find Julep polishes here:

 An other final look.

Now off to make Korean dumplings for dinner, yes I am making them. I am using ready made dumpling skins but rest is from scratch. Have a good day, and thanks for stopping by.

Yay, Friday is here.

This morning I decided to paint my nails, so pulled out the FP polish I got in Feb. nail bag from NAS Romanticism Ruby and used one of my Shany plates and Konad stamping polish in white.
Then it was off to pick up my Dyson that had been repaired and off to the biggest Asian market in SLC.
I walked out from the Asian market with 5 bags, and in one of them to my hubby's horror 2 jars of Kimchi one normal napa one and one radish. Also stocked up on some yummy Korean ramen noodles, 2 bags of frozen rice cakes, pork and veggie dumplings, Kalbi marinade, sesame seeds, Enoki mushrooms and some meats. But I forgot to get the hot pepper paste, oh well. Next time.......

But here are my nails, to my horror the NYC Grand Central Station  topcoat shrinks this polish,.....
It was a stunning sunny day in SLC today so the glitter effect in this polish was just stunning. So silly I forgot my camera so I couldn't snap a picture in the sun.

Have a great weekend!!!

Stamping Test: Shany XXL 02 Plate.

I wanted to do a stamping test video of this plate.... But my camera wouldn't focus for me when I tried shooting the video, and the lighting looked really bad. So I had to just give up and take pictures of the "testing stones" and make a slideshow. But I guess it's better than nothing, right?
This plate is one of Shany's XXL plates (think they have 4 XXL plates), and right now they cost $10.00
When I got this plate I was shocked how big a lot of these images are. And when I say big, like they'll only fit on my thumb nail, so not too fond of that. I think that is the only bad thing about this plate the big difference in the sizes of these images.
I just used a basic SH white as base on my "practice stones" and used WnW Black Creme to stamp with.
And all the images I tried stamped really well, so is it a good buy for $ 10.00? If you don't mind that you'll get a lot of big images and like charcaters like Smurfs, Angry birds, Hello Kitty, and that other anime cat that I can't remember the name of..... And a bunch of other animals, Japanese words, lips, etc Yeah, I would say this plate is a great buy.

As some of you may know I also ordered the 2013 set, but I got the wrong set. I contacted Shany's customer service and got a confirmation email about my claim. And they got it wrong again, so I sent a reply by email and got a reply back that they would send the correct set ASAP and I could keep the set they sent by mistake. Yes, it was clearly that the lady I spoke to on the phone had problems understanding, but it got sorted out. So I am pleased by their customer service.

If you're looking for affordable image plates and other nail art items you should check them out.

My First Order From Shany Cosmetics.

Last week I made my first order from Shany cosmetics, I ordered the Shany 2013 set, the XXL Image plate B and a wheel of 3D clay flowers.
So I checked my order form and it confirmed I had ordered these items and they got shipped. Today I got them in the mail, and opened the set and started to peel off the blue plastic. Then to my horror I saw that the plates didn't look like the ones I had ordered and checked the number. And yeah, it was the plates from set 01 in the box for set 02.......
So I opened the envelope that the XXL plate comes in, at least that one was the right one. But I have to say I was shocked to see how big some of the images are, like the angry birds and smurfs are BIG. Only way I can stamp those are if I place them on my thumb nail. Will be too big for my other nails.
The backing of the XXL plate feels great, even a bit better than the backing of my two Dashica XXL SdP plates. But the Shany plate doesn't have as many images on it as the ones from Dashica.  Also the images on the Dashica plate aren't too big so you can stamp them on your other nails too.
Yes, the XXL Shany is way cheaper than the XXL Dashica plates, the Shany is now $ 10.00 while Dashica is 39.99 Euros/ or $53.00. But Dashica's XXL SdP1 has 338 images on it and XXL SdP2 has around 390 images on it.
But it is still a good deal for $10.00, I just hope they stamp well. That will be my next post. I sent Shany an email about the error on the plate they sent me. I just have to wait and see what happens.
